Things couldn’t have been more perfect for Tayla and Nick’s wedding day.  The blue sky was dotted with the occasional white cloud and the breeze was warm when these two made their promise to each other under the gracious, old tree at Penryn Park.  Mother Nature cooperated and lent the sunset for a final set of portraits of the newly married couple.  The day which began beautifully, continued beautifully and the reception guests were able to enjoy the grounds at the Port Hope Golf and Country Club and the beautiful view of Lake Ontario.  Everyone stayed for the reception and all the generations could be found on the dance floor.  It was a celebration in the truest sense of the word.

The effort that Tayla and Nick put into all the details of their wedding was evident everywhere, nothing was overlooked and everything was personalised to the couple.  Tayla, I think you may have found your calling as a wedding planner/coordinator.  The day was incredibly smooth and unhurried.  The perfect way to cherish a wedding day.

One of the most unexpected joys for me as a photographer is getting to see my wedding clients celebrating the weddings of their family and friends.  It is a privilege to be invited into your circle for a day and to witness all the love and happiness your family and friends have for you.  Thanks to all my former and new clients for allowing me to be part of your days.

The venue, organised impeccably by Aimee Johnston is Penryn Park at the Port Hope Golf and Country Club.

Jessica and Tyler have this most beautiful story, they have known each other for years and years and back in the early 2000’s Tyler actually made it onto Jess’ ‘top ten cutest boys list’.  Lucky for the rest of us the seed was planted.  Though they didn’t start dating until years after, these two friends found themselves on a spot nestled amongst the trees north of Port Hope in early June to start the next step in their journey together.

This lovely backyard wedding was the perfect backdrop for the abundance of smiling that accompanied the joining of these two lovelies.

A quick mention for Jordan Beresford Creative Design , Jordan has done the programs, labels and invitations at a number of weddings I have been a part of.  She has this fantastic modern, fresh style that is tailored to each couple.

In the past few months our family has been undergoing some changes.  Photography and life in general seems to have simultaneously slowed down and sped up as we welcomed a new little person into our midst.

Little Ruby was kind enough to grace us with her presence this April.  Photography has taken a bit of a back seat while we adjust to her becoming part of our family.  I can honestly say that this transition has been the easiest and she has been a fantastic baby.

I am still checking my e-mail and responding to inquiries regularly and am looking forward to jumping back into weddings in June.   Until then, I will continue to snuggle Ruby while she still tolerates it.

2013 was an all around wonderful year for weddings and photography and here are some of the most memorable moments I captured.  It is a privilege to be able to share in your wedding days and to get to know you as couples I and subsequently your family and friends on your wedding days.

A special thank-you to all of the couples who embraced my presence on their wedding days and engagement sessions!.  You have all been more fantastic than I could have even imagined.

I can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store!

I’ve had a number of inquiries lately for ‘event’ photography – Anniversaries, Birthdays and the like.  Adult children putting together presents and celebrations for their parents and wanting them documented.

I love photographing weddings, but there is something extraordinarily special about spending time capturing a family that has grown from the commitment of two people to something much bigger- a legacy.

I photographed this family for a very special 65th Birthday Extravaganza.  To say that photographing them was a pleasure is a gross understatement –

A pleasure indeed…
