Allison and André got married in the Dominican and celebrated with a reception here in Ontario.

(they didn’t invite me along to the Dominican for the ceremony, but I didn’t feel offended….no, not at all-I just think the pictures would have been wonderful…)

When Allison and I met, I knew immediately that our photographer-bride relationship would be the stuff poems are written about.  She’s incredibly easy-going, funny, and completely beautiful inside and out (and also a stylist here in Cobourg, which was just icing on the cake).

When I met André I saw how the two together were simply perfect.   Together with a fantastic bridal party it was one of the most carefree wedding days I have been at.

Congratulations Allison and André, I look forward to seeing you around.

Every photograph I take- every photograph I see- they each have a different effect on me.

Alison, Dan and baby Owen brought back those early memories of navigating life with a new baby.  Oh…the sleeplessness!   The wonder and the worry of babies who get up too early, stay up too late and only nap 45 minutes at a time.  Because…you didn’t realise that they might do this and you’re obsessed with the why of it all.

And it’s inevitable that you will wonder why we do this to ourselves (especially, those of us who do it more than once!).  But, then you look at your little person, this little person who is of you and is a part of you forever, and he or she gives you these looks, these looks that are full of their personality and full of their love for you and just full of the promise of the person they will someday be.  And you know…you KNOW that you have been entrusted with this child, and it’s a privilege.

The connection between this sweet baby and his parents was so obvious, it just bled through the photos.

Owen wasn’t really sure of this whole photography business, so I ended up coming back a second time for more photos.  His mom was apologetic, but really, what can you do?  Babies get all sorts of privileges, including the privilege of not performing for the (hardworking!) photographer.  This session is one of my favourites, because there is no pretending.  This is Owen and this is his family.

Tim and Kathryn have a wonderful love story.  They’ve known each other since they were children, became friends in grade school and started dating at the end of high school.  They are best friends.

The day had everything a wedding day should; two people excited to commit to each other surrounded by the genuine love of their family and friends.

Welcome to this website.

This photography blog is the culmination of a hobby becoming so much more and eventually becoming what you see today, a business.  A business which I am incredibly proud to launch.

I want to give a quick thank-you to everyone who has helped me to get this far, my family, friends and clients for being amazingly supportive and trusting me to photograph yourselves, your families and your most treasured events. You will probably find yourself among these pages.  It has been an honour to be allowed into your homes and your lives and I have so enjoyed my time spent with each and every one of you.  You make this job easy and fun.

A special thank-you to my dad and his love of photography, because despite the time my 16 year old self spent glaring at the camera I guess that something sunk in and here I am today.

Drew and Desmond, two of the loveliest (and devilish) children to grace this planet have been a source of constant inspiration and many laughs as I struggle to keep up with the way they are constantly evolving.   Kids have this magical way of keeping us in the moment and I am so thankful for this.  My love of photography is driven by my desire to capture these fleeting moments and my biggest wish is that Drew and Desmond will be grateful for the many (many!!) pictures I have taken.

None of this would be possible without the constant love and support of my amazing husband Keith.  Keith is my biggest cheerleader and supporter and whether he’s discussing business or carting my equipment he has this unwavering belief in me.   Our own marriage is the reason why I love photographing weddings and believe in the promises made in them.   He is truly a partner to me in every sense of the word.
